I've made a mashup of scissor sisters/bee gees and i want to upload it onto myspace. But I noticed that on myspace it says that if the music is copyrighted then your profile will be deleted. Can anyone tell me if a remix is still classed as breach of copyright?

I think you can use 14 second samples of a song ...
The only thing i can think of is if you try all the myspace sites of mashup artists you know to see if they have put their remixes on there. Have just tried 2 many dj's (Soulwax remix only, no mashups) & Freelance Hellraiser (Remixes of Jim Noir & Snow Patrol). Not sure if Freelance hellraiser had special permission though being some kind of 'official' remixer. Could you not ask MySpace? If you find out one way or another could you please post an answer to let the rest of us know? Cheers.
