Either funky and upbeat (eg: I like it like that), deep and moody, soft and interesting (eg: meet joe black music), name some of the songs you love that fit into these or similar categories, I'm looking for something new to listen to.

Aimee Mann is quite soft and interesting I guess, as is Saint Etienne who I'm quite partial to, and I'd say the new Christina Aguilera album is quite funky in parts, although not to everyone's taste.

I'm currently enjoying smiley face and that lili what'sherface song about london town for funky and upbeat. Also, the shrek 2 albulm is great for upbeat tunes, current fav from that is accidently in love by counting crows which I hadn't heard for ages before getting albulm.

Soft and interesting... erm, just brought best of pretenders which has some lovely stuff on, listening to eels last night, also soft but with a twist. Nick Drake is very relaxing. Eva Cassidy also good for soft. Not so good with the soft and interesting stuff... The Nirvanna unplugged albulm is pretty good.
