I used to play piano when I was younger, but this isn't very portable. I started looking into guitars and wondered how viable it would be to download one of these e-books from ebay 2 year courses where you teach yourself using dots on the frets or something. So I found an old guitar in the attic, but obviously it is out of tune. What I want to know is whether if I buy an electronic guitar tuner I will be able to tune it myself, of whether you need to be able to play to use one!? Sorry for the essay....! :-)
Well the guitar tuner has many different settings, depending on what type of guitar you have. There is a small microphone like hole in which you pluck your string in front of. You will then see a Meter/Guage judge the sound also showing a colour either red or green. Green being tuned, red being untuned. As you pluck and watch the meter/ guage flicker between the two colours you will easly see how close to tuned your strings are. Simply get all your strings to "Play Green".
