Why did Hope of the States split up?

I'm gutted, as one of my favourite indie bands ever, HOTS have split up. Although they tried to explain the reasons behind their decisions, they were too general, and not specific enough 'we felt it was the right time to go our seperate ways' etc.

Is it because they never got the recognition they deserved? And/or because they were getting frustrated by their lack of success?

Does anyone know for sure?

im not entirely sure about why they split up, but they didnt seem like the sort of people who would give up because of a lack of success.
the 2 albums they left behind, however are truly great, and i look forward to any other projects from the former members
