M3U track

I have a song which is for some reason, an M3U track. I need to either convert it to mp3 or burn it onto a CD, which I can't do.
What is M3U and how can I sort it out??!!

If Winamp isn't on the list there, click "Choose Program" at the bottom and find Winamp.
I'm assuming you've got Winamp installed.
IF it's the case that your file is a link to some streamed music, open the m3u file with Notepad and you'll have the link to it.

Hi Stevie-
I don't seem to have Winamp. I opened it with notepad and just got this:
#EXTM3U
I then clicked on the notepad icon which is next to the song in My Music, and got this:
[playlist]
File1=http://www.williamyoung.biz/media/media_aintno mountain.rm
Title1=Will and Hayley - Aint No Mountain High Enough
Length1=114
NumberOfEntries=1
Version=2
I see this gives you the link of where the song was downloaded from... but I still don't know how to make it into an MP3!

In your post there, you can right click on the link and "Save As" and you'll get the ".rm" file saved to your PC.
Once you have that, if you need it to be an mp3 you can try to convert it with a program called Super, or just record the audio going through your soundcard.
Or you can just play the ".rm" file with Real Player or Media Player Classic (or any number of other programs)
