Weather Report - Birdland

Hi, I have a Jazz compilation CD and on it is a piece of music called Birdland by Weather Report. I am sure this used to be the theme music to a TV programme but can't find anyone who agrees. can anyone help who knows this piece of music...? it is a fine tune!

There's quite an essay about the track (and the LP it came from) at http://www.binkie.net/wrdisc/Heavy%20Weather.html which makes no mention of it appearing as a TV theme. It does, however, appear from time to time on TV when the producers need a bit of class!

I totally get this as well, but can't find a reference, or remember which show. I'm feeling like it was a chat show. The part that starts around the 2 minute mark.
18 years later .... did you ever find out?

This section of Birdland reminds me a lot of the theme from "You've been framed".
