'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac. Bob Harris played 'The Chain' on TOGWT the week the album was released - I got my copy when the record shop opened next day, and I've loved it ever since.
So by Peter Gabriel, absolutely love that album and I know I'm cheating here but I also adore Muse's Origin of Symetry. The song I love most is 'I can't make you love me' by Bonnie Raitte, it absolutely tears me up everytime.
Fall in love with or to? Single was Missing You by John Waite....for loads of reasons and the album would have to be Tapestry by Carole King.

great answers, thx.. i would say keep 'em coming but you know how long a thread lasts in Music Cat. :-)
ALBUMS- Soundgarden-'Superunknown' & Kate Bush-'Hounds of Love'. And not really single but a B-side Tori Amos' version of the Steeley Dan (Steeleye Span)?? 'Do it again'. Fantastic.
mine have got to be moon safari by air and ky by lemon jelly
Pet Sounds and thanks mainly to this website. About a year ago I asked a question about Brian Wilson and was pointed to this album. Passionate love affair ever since!
slimjim - hope you've got your tickets for Brian Wilson's tour next spring. He's going to be performing Smile. That's not a typo - just a miracle! See you there.
In terms of an Album it has to be "Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1" by George Micheal. I'm basing this on the fact the as a collection of songs it stands out not that the there are few brilliant ones and few rubbish ones. Thats what I would say about Pet Sounds which in general terms is a master piece but there are a few songs which just dont do it for me. In terms of a single it changes on a daliy basis, maybe "First Time Ever I saw your Face" by Roberta Flack, making me emotional just thinking about it.

thx for replys; Hounds of Love xclnt imo and rumours; i like when it's an obscure title you love it but if they played it on radio you at first feel proud then robbed of your special music. My loved album was obscure but the title, long; 'My People were Fair and had Sky in their Hair but Now they're Content to Wear Stars on their Brows' (1968) - music, something we can still be diverse with :-)

For me, it was the loungey, laid back 'Typical!' single off the equally brilliant 'Sue' album by Frazier Chorus.
Mikewith, Royal Festival Hall in February. Mrs Slim and I can't wait!
slimjim - first two nights at RFH and front row seats for the last night of the tour in Birmingham. O h m y g o d!
