As a child growing up my mum used to listen to a reggae singer called john holt, and all his songs grew on me, and my girlfriend loves to listen to him too, my kids evem=n like some of his songs, my mates in work have never heard of him, have you lot reading this heard of him, if so whats your favourites mine is. His pioneering brand of lovers rock has been a major influence on Dennis Brown and others, and his 'One Thousand Volts Of Holt' album is a great place to start exploring his talent. Even if Holt is not well known to UK audiences, his writing is - he composed Blondie's Number One hit 'The Tide Is High'.
john holt is great. time is the master is my favourite. try and get the dvd john holt in symphoney with the royal philharmonic concert orchestra, with guest the great freddie mcgreggor. itsa must for john holt fans . see him perform. its about 10 year old can be a bit hard to get hold off, you know how to get though!!!
