An MP3 cannot be charged up. It needs a battery.

A battery should have been included with it when you purchased it.
Actually many MP3 players have an internal rechargeable battery and can be recharged via the USB ports on your computer.

Some in fact can ONLY be charged via the computer.

Some do have external batteries too!

You should have a USB lead which came with the player, one end goes into a USB port on the computer and the other into your player....simple!

Others come with a mains adaptor which means you can charge them as you would do a mobile phone.

Got over 35000 MP3's, never found a flat one though
charge via the usb lead that should have come with mp3 player, very quick
