My hubby's worked with her - she's actually almost blind. Some sort of degenerative condition, I think.

Gabrielle was looking for something to make her image more memorable. Her great great gradfather was apparently a pirate, and she wanted to pay tribute to him.

She eventually settled on the eypatch after her management persuaded her to abandon her wooden leg and parrot.
