Hi. been trying to find a song from the mid to late 80's. it was a instrumental with saxaphone, it went something like boom boom and then the sax, it always filled the dance floor, everyone i've sung it too from that era remembers it but doesn't know the title can you help please.... frustrated dj..
definitely no lyrics as you say youve sung it to people ?
couple of suggestions from that era that contained sax are chad jackson(not an instrumental) 'hear the drummer(get wicked)' and candy dulfer with dave stewart(instrumental but a slow paced song) 'lily was here'
sorry i meant i hummed to people, i know the 2 songs you suggested and it's neither of them thanks for your help anyway ( there was also a dance with it at the time where you would jump forwards, backwards and turn to your right) but it could have been a reginal thing .. cheers dj fester
Hi,
I think it may be a song called the 900 number or something like that. The one I am thinking of made everyone jump, once, very slowly about 4 or 5 seconds apart. Have the 12 inch version in my garage somewhere and will have a look when I go down there.
Happy new year!
I believe both of you were right. The original track was by Mark The 45 King - The 900 Number. Chad Jackson sampled the horn break for "Hear The Drummer Get Wicked", as he did with Chuck D from Public Enemy for the vocals.
Hi Mifta, just wanted to say sorry for being a male chauvinist pig and forgetting about all you lady DJs, sorry ...
Also thanks to everybody else who left a message, it's a great site keep up the good work dj Fester...
