All i want is money, moneys what i want

In nearly every lighthearted documentary where money has been mentioned i have heard a famous clip of music where the lyrics go ' All i want is money, ooh ooh ooh, Money's what i want.' I typed this into google as one does and lots of groups seem to have used this track including The Beatles. But do you know who is singing it in the most famous version? I know it is a woman. Thank you! x

Deborah Evans Strickland has recently added vocals to a couple of tracks on the new Richard X, one is a remake of the classic Walk On By in a very Flying Lizard type style

In the other thread, anthomson confirmed it was The Flying Lizards and mikewith wrote: Money was written by Barrett Strong (who co-wrote most of the Temptations' hits) and has been covered by tons of people from the Beatles to the Stones, Springsteen, Smashing Pumpkins, the Blues Brothers and almost every garage band of the 60s. But you probably are thinking of the Flying Lizards' 1979 version (UK #4). Deborah Stickland, the Lizards' vocalist: "Strangely, Money has not been out of the public eye since, being regularly used in TV programmes about the Thatcher years and even a stint on the BBC's Money programme ... also their interesting documentary on the Monet exhibition. It has been used in a number of commercials, regularly played on the radio and used in three recent films, Empire Records, The Wedding Singer, and most recently Charlie's Angels."
