but I heard a song the other day and it has really made me thing of something. the song is Aint too proud to beg by the temptations and goes -
I know you wanna leave me, but I refuse to let you go..
If I have to beg and plead for your sympathy, I don't mind coz' you mean that much to me, Please don't leave me girl....
Anyways, when I heard it I had a really vague vision of a tv show or film with and I think what happened was a man mimed this to someone and there were perhaps 2 friends in the background going a dance like the shoop shoop. does that ring any bells at all with you? I will be amazed if anyone can remember anything similar but its worth a shot!
Yes CarolG, I do remember this. It was actually an advert for a beer - I think Budweiser. The guy singing to the girl was Jerome Flynn (of Soldier Soldier and Robson & Jerome fame), and his mates behind included (would you believe it) Michael Ball. I still have the ad on a video when I taped The Godfather off the telly in the 80s. I once asked Michael Ball about it & he was not only amused, he wanted a copy of the tape
It was very similar to a bar scene in the movie Top Gun where Tom Cruise serenades Kelly McGillis. Because the TV ad was so popular, Aint Too Proud To Beg was re-released as a single and I still have that copy too.
Thanks Craigiep but thats not the one, if i remember correctly that was The Tracks of My Tears by Smokey Robinson - i had it on video too from when we taped Romancing The Stone!
