I need some help on a couple types of music. First of all, does anyone know of any artists who have music with sort of a combined ethnic and new age feel?
Also, I am looking for some good horror music, something that is truly scary, but nothing with Halloween theme. Thanks a lot!

Transglobal Underground, African Headcharge, and some Banco de Gaia tracks. I think they are farily new age / ethnic.
Agree with the above, especially Banco, look to the psy trance scence but the softer side of it.

You will find a mixture of ambient grooves with a mainly asian feel, or there is a tune by Union Jack on the "there will be no armageddon album" think its track 4 that is a mixture of water drums and dreamy vocal, its class.

good hunting!
And then i remembered about Astralasia, check out their best of compliation.

Several tracks on that will be suitable
If you can still get it, the CD of music from 'The Lonely Planet' (Channel 4 show from mid 90's) has just what you're looking for - incorporates ethnic themes / sounds / voices from around the world. Some of the themes are available on the website of one of the writers - http://ian-ritchie.com/mp3.htm but IMHO not all the best ones from the album, and not what you seem to be looking for. Hope this helps!
Oh, and for horror music - Massive Attack's 'Mezzanine' album is really claustrophobic, and Primal Scream's 'XTRMNTR' has some really menacing music on it!
