Hi, My dad has a JCB PCF38AF 16" Chainsaw, and he wants a replacement chain/blade asap. He's tried going through JCB already and they're taking forever to get back to him - I was just wondering if anyone knew how many drive links this model has please, so I can try and get a Stihl chain, as I have been told they're the best ones to use? I've found a few stockists and have had my eyes on eBay, but trying to get a JCB blade is like mission impossible. Can anybody please help with the Drive Links? The specs say it's 3/8" and 0.50. Thanks in anticipation x

It's not a question of links. As long as the chain you buy is for a 3/8 sprocket ( which is what yours is) you need only order one for a 16" bar.
If you need a lot of chains you could consider buying the chain in bulk and splicing your own lengthes. who ever sell the chain will also sell the splice links you need.( It splices like a bike chain)
In addition to the chain you will also need a couple of round files to match the chain and a small flat file to resharpen .

Thanks for that - I've already bought him the files. Thanks for giving me a no nonsense answer - was going mad looking at all the different numbers and specs on the ebay listings for 16" chains!
