I think I can tell Funk from R and B but is there a definition of Funk Music?

Im rubbish at explaining stuff but Ill have a bash. Funk is of african origins and is often well mastered by jazz musicians. Think Jamiroquai, yup that is indeed jazz. Funk kinda focuses on rhythm and not the actual tune. If you were were to listen to it then the first beat in each bar normally has the most emphasis and you probably wouldn't see structured chord changes and regular beats.
Funk is groove.
