I know about Baker Street and all the rest of it, but I have just researched Gerry Rafferty and I gather he is considered one of the greatest Irish folk singers of all time, right up there with Enya who is of course the best. Has anyone else heard of Gerry Rafferty ? I've been listening to "Moonlight and Gold" and it is tearing my heart apart..

Of course....Baker Street is a classic.
I thought he was Scottish.. anyhoo, I love Steelers Wheel :o)
I've heard of him although I only know Baker Street really.

Must point out that I hate Enya - I would put her in Room 101
Enya is BRILLIANT, her and Cat Deeley.
he is Scottish , he was born in Paisley although his
dad is Irish . absolutely brill singer/songwriter

He was in a band called the "Humblebums" with comedian Billy Connolly.
He was also in Stealer's Wheel with Joe Egan, with whom he did Little Green Bag, used famously as the Reservoir Dogs theme Music.
Gormless, hello! Nice to see you here!
I never heard about him but my bf has some records so I will give them a try, I feel curious now!
Hi Everyone,
I think Gerry Rafferty is brilliant.
Gormless, try listening to the CD On a Wing and a Payer,
Gormless, you seem a pleasant enough oddball, yes try the Wing and a Prayer album, especially "It's so easy to talk" track 3. If you now know Moonlight and Gold then you will know what Rafferty is capable of. I urge you to explore the rest of his work. Are there any large virgins in your area where you could have a decent poke around ?
Large virgins? oh dear....
