Hi Chris.I am using Audacity to put Audio Tapes into my music library, the problem is that I have to keep stopping the import at the end of each track(for seperation). My question is can I program Audacity to do this for me? Also in answerbank I keep seeing the word Lol. Is this a technical term or one of endearment(xx)Ron.
"LOL" means "Laugh out loud". People often write it if they find something funny.
Try just importing the entire tape, and then going back and looking at the audio stream in audacity -- you should be able to spot the quiet bits for a few seconds, and can use audacity to cut those bits and paste them as new files. (I don't use Audacity much so can't really help in that respect, but it's possible and easy I'd think.)
I think that Fo3nix has already suggested the best way to do things. (I'm not aware of any way to program Audacity to stop automatically at the end of a track). It would seem simplest to record the entire album and then cut and paste to create separate files.
