Posted it under News it was in the newspaper and they reckon it will make no.1, one of the men is 100 years old and a survivor of the Nazi regime , so is that not News ?? Or are you the type of people who no time for the elderly ??

Well I think it's great and if it helps these elderly people to feel they have a purpose and not just be shoved aside to rot in a nursing home or high rise flat then fair play to them .We all have to get old ..hopefully .Just because someone is old it doesn't mean they no longer enjoy a bit of a good time and laugh . .
If they can mollycoodle scum in prisons then they can do something for our older generation to help them feel good ....which was the whole purpose of the exercise .

Can't those who criticize imagine how these lovely people must have felt just being a part of that? It's a bit of fun with a serious purpose.

Thanks for the support Shaneystar2 , I don't suppose any of the others have any elderly relations , as if they did they would know that they still like a good time in there own way . I'm a carer for an 81 year old , he still thinks he's 21 , so he should as he spent 6 years of his life fighting in WW2 , 3 years which was in Burma . So who are the saddos the young or the elderly ??

the young people of today [on the whole] have no respect for the elderly but then again some of the older generation are a bit grumpy to young people as well.its swings and roundabouts really but there is certainly no harm in our senior citizens enjoying themselves in whatever capacity they choose and if that means performing in public then so be it.they may even be better than some of the younger 'stars' they cant be much worse.

I maintain that watching a hundred year old toothless man singing "Hope I get old before I die" just isn't funny. It does not mean I am ageist, do not care for the elderly, nor have a sense of humour failure. The whole thing is just pointless drivel, on par with Hi-de-Hi or a Joe Longthorn concert.

I agree with Joe, that I just don't find it entertaining in the slightest. I do think its fantastic that its given some elderly folk a bit of get up and go and the opportunity to be jetting off to America but even as a novelty I just want to switch it off.
