Elton John CDs

I am planning to buy a couple of Elton CDs and need a couple of bits of advice.
The Captain Fantastic CD is available in a deluxe version which is a double CD. Is the second CD live renditions of the songs on the first CD? And, is there merit in buying the deluxe version?
Also, a quick look on amazon shows that Tumbleweed Connection is available on SACD/CD hybrid. What is this and should it be bought instead of the ordinary CD version?

goodbye yellow brick road is a great album, dont shoot me I'm only the piano player, songs from the west coast, the big picture, made in england, the one, and captain and the kid are great albums, also the 60th birthday dvd is great, a few songs not on thoses albums that I like by elton are, empty garden, I guess thats why the call it the blues, sad songs (say so much) well I could so on for ever :)..... if you want to know more just let me know...
