this question came up in my maths exam and i couldn't figure it out. can you help??

In the triangle abc, bc||de, |ae| = |de =6 and |bd| = 1/2 |ce| |bc| =10

(a) Find |ce|

(b) Find |ad|

(c) Find |ab|

6 = 6

10 6+2x


so 2x= ec = 4


let ad = y
ae = ac

ad ab

6 = 10
- -
y 2+y


so ad = y = 3



so ab = 3+2 = 5
