Hi, This is a strange one and I hope someone has the answer. I'm looking for the name of an old film (1940's or 1950's) which had as the two main characters, a black maid and her white employer. Both the maid and the employer had daughters and as the daughter of the maid was of mixed race, she tried to pass herself off as white. Eventually, she abandoned her mother and her black roots until her mother died and only then at the funeral, did she realise what she had done. What was the name of the film and the name of the girl who played the lead? Many thanks as this is doing my nut in!
