Rover 623GSI radio won't pick up national stations

The original radio on my 1994 L reg Rover 632GSI wont pick up any national radio stations. I picks up local radio no probs but when I try to tune in to BBC Radio 1/2/3/4 I just get a loud bleeping noise. Any ideas why this is happening and what I need to do?

Oh and It picks up other national stations like Virgin. It just seems it does not like any frequency under 94.8
