me and my dad have been arguing can you take two pieces in the save move at chess e.g if you take a pawn with your queen in the same move can your queen take another piece

Jenstar has correctly answered your question regarding a Queen taking a Pawn but I'm still slightly worried about the way that Jenstar plays chess. If he/she states that the piece carrying out the capture always finishes on the square occupied by the captured piece, it seems that Jenstar is playing a version of chess which doesn't include the 'en passant' rule ;-)
