have no idea but I sang it at karaoke other month and when those words came up I thought they were having me on. Dont know what the hell I used to sing before that though :-)
I think the first three are just about the people surrounding him. He said he wanted the song to be made up of contradicting ideas so I suppose thats the mulatto, followed by an albino, but that, and whatever the mosquito represents, are all things that don't fit well into society. After all being a teenager is all about not fitting in but then it ALWAYS harks back to your libido, yay!
I read a long, long, long time ago that the Mosquito represented himself and his addiction.
I think it's just a load of old boll$ks written by a junkie.
Great tune. One of my all time favorites.
Well slap my thigh and call me Cecil, for once I agree with the reverand here!

The guy was as high as a kite 99% of the time, I'm willing to bet that he didn't know what it meant either.
No he was too bust counting the millions he made.( So he could buy a gun and blow his head off ).
Dont get me wrong Boo I do like a bit of Nirvana, Pennyroyal Tea especially, but when people have to interpret a mosquito being him and his addiction give me a break lol.

I hate music with hidden meanings just say what you mean ffs lol
lol.

I have to admit being a bit of a philistine as far as Nervana goes. I'm not sure if it was to do with the kind of music i listened to at the time (cheesy chart stuff) or not, but i'd genuinely not heard of them till he splatted himself.

Were they really that big a band and were they really that good? Or has his death elevated them to this almost godlike state some folk hold them in?
They were massive. Still sell loads as well. Their drummer is the lead singer of the foo fighters.
Thats what i read, rev, doen`t make it true and its not my opinion...i couldn`t care less about what the lyrics mean.
Yes but what i'm asking is whether they are still massive because of his death? Ya got to admit his exit had the classic rock n roll finale written all over it! If they were still going today, would they still be revered?
I think his death has had a lot to do with their continued popularity, people forget though that were shocking live and got booed off stage on occassion.

Out of all their albums I think you can make one decent one.
Classic question. They were and i believe still would be today.
Cyanide Im not knocking you lol

Mosquitos, albinos etc I never knew that was what he was singing but it sounded ok lol

Oh my god boo. Really? I was 14 when he shot himself and I am a little ashamed to say I was gutted. Certainly didn't go to school, I stayed at home for the MTV extravaganza. I really did think they were the most important thing in my life ( how very emo), I think its dated now and I dont understand all the 14 year olds today wearing Nirvana hoodies but maybe it is just about being a teenager.

We had tickets to see them in Cardiff that month. I think thats part of the reason that I was so upset, just being selfish really. Still I think its given Dave Grohls uber talent a chance to shine through and for that I am overwhelmingly glad. Although I saw an interview with him where he said " If I could just change one thing, Kurt wouldnt be dead, thats the only thing".

He's the last of the 27 club, he was an amazing rock star. I think due to the new celebrity gossipy crap magazines and stuff we wont see anyone of his kind again.
but cecil it is a great song. But yes I do agree with rev that if he hadnt have died he wouldnt be that famous. I've only ever heard of one of his albums, did he do any others??
rev,its ok i didn`t take it personally(i`m grumpy today).LOL
xx
I agree Neil. They are one of the greats. Nirvana were a defining moment in the change of music. Yes, Pearl JAm, Soundgarden etc were around but people were listening to Guns n Roses, Aerosmith, Skid Row but then Nirvana leapt onto the scene and brought grunge to the masses. Bands like that are never forgotten and had he not have died they would still be well remembered. Nirvana wouldn't have continued for long, he was desperate to take a back seat.
I couldnt name you a single take that album but that doesnt mean they werent huge in the 90s, I was just listening to dofferent stuff. What were you listening to around that time 4get? and hw old were you?
