Hello all, i have a question about glasses and opticians prescriptions. I went to the optician today and he said that I need spectacles of -0.5 in the left eye and -0.25 in the right eye. I understand this to mean that I am slightly short sighted. He also said that the glasses should be worn for working at the computer and night driving. Forgive me if this is a silly question but are they not quite different? does anyone else have a similar prescription?

..yes, I too was told many years ago that I was slightly short sighted, to wear my glasses for driving, tv watching and working on the pc.....this I did, every 2 years my eyesight has got worse and I now wear my glasses all the time, I only take them off to read. and to sew etc...
If you are short-sighted, you can see things better at close range. Although looking at a screen and driving are different, they are both outwith the range you can view properly.
