I liked it but couldn't make out the lyrics and have forgotten the tune!

It was sung by an english band and I think is quite recent.

I seem to remember it was about a train, one line went something like "I wish I missed the train".

I know its not much info but if anyone knows which song it is I would be grateful!

It was a boyband, similar to the hoosiers and arctic monkeys style (I think).
Is it Torn on the Platform by Jack Penate?
I think he's British and sounds like the monkeys and hoosiers.

hope this helps.

I'd agree that Jack Penate's Torn On The Platform seems the most likely. It seems more melodic to me than anything The Arctic Monkeys have done - indeed the song it reminds me of the most is Happy Hour by The Housemartins!

BTW lagunabeach, I know what you mean really, but I'm sure the Arctic Monkeys and The Hoosiers would love to be branded "boybands" - can't really picture them lined up perched on stools crooning some God-awful cover version of a drippy love song. ;-)
