hi. last week i purchased a Tanglewood classical guitar from the internet.
Can anyone with any classical guitar experience please tell me if it is normal for the side of the neck on the right hand side (where my palm wraps around when playing chords) to lose the paint, it has a black finish to it, but i've noticed that some of the black has completely worn off .i've only had it a week !
Also i've noticed that if i rub with my finger the black ink then transfers to my finger? help !

I would say no, especially with a reputable make such as Tanglewood. Is it new or second hand? If the latter, it may have been tarted up for appearance sake.

its brand new
Sorry,
I have to agree with Mortartube, my Hubby plays guitar and says this sounds like someone has been trying to make the guitar look good.
Hubby has a Tanglewood and has never heard if this happening to a new guitar.
My Tanglewood has never done this, send it back.
