wow jacko, so it is!
It was probably the third option :)
I always presumed Legend meant the 3rd option when he called nutty that.
might down load

the tool bar it sounds good

thanks for the education on this matter

lol x
Definitely the 3rd option.A slang word championed on bbc radio 1 by those manchester jokers mark and lard.No oversight i use it regularly..Also well known from pulp fiction im surprised you had to look it up.Like the guy in pulp fiction said , quit being a gimp .

yes myriad2112 but being as the whole argument was about being insensetive i would have thought a different word would have been more appropriate so as not to confuse or give amunition to someone .
See, now I always thought he meant meaning #2, as I feel that most accurately describes Knobby. :) (just kidding)
Actually i prefer the oxford dictionary to some urban trash.I regularly call knobby a piece of reinforced material in upholstery.

leg i looked it up just for that reason, i realise that it is from pulp fiction but i was also slightly aware that it was used to ridicule the disabled, so i had a look , can you see what i mean though ? by using that word you are playing straight into the hands of those you were having a pop at , i just think you could have used a different word whilst in that thread , not eveyone knows or knewthat you meant option 3 .
jacko the arguement wasnt about being insensitive.it was about directly saying that a woman did the right thing by poisoning her husband resulting in his blindness and deafness.im not about to argue this all night as i was correct yesterday.what i will say is go back reread it and if youre still of the same opinion then youre wrong.you can feel free to reply to this post but i wont be wasting my evening conversing with you about whiffys callous comments neither will i even entertain the slightest suggestion that i was in anyway similar.if you think i was then good shout it from the rooftops.i reserve the right to say youre talking bullsh1t.
i hope this has cleared it up for you.im now off to enjoy myself.i suggest you do the same.though the choice is yours entirely.

One thing to note about leg end is that he only ever posts (and my god so often) dead certs.

It is easy to post a link to something obviously disgusting to all mankind, which is what this halfwit does all the time, the objective being of course to garner in the Oooh what a fine upstanding fellow you are legend ! vote.

He got a bit stymied earlier on today when he posted a hate thread about Maxine Carr, and such was his confusion that he referred to ' Ian Carr '. I found it very amusing when lots of people didn't climb on to his hate wagon, and even disagreed with him.

I am a very bad person but not a fool

... and you make less spelling mistakes!

as i said i am not looking for an argument, i did read all of the post and i agree that whiiey was out of order , all i am saying is that using the word gimp was not appropriate as some people could have assumed that you yourself were being insensative
Question Author
also when i am walking down the street with my walking stick i do not assume that they are refering to option 3 if they call me a gimp.
When i was a teenager and feeling indestrucible as you do at that age, My boyfriend at the time and myself went around and called people who annoyed us (sorry if this offends) a nonse!! It wasnt until a couple of years later when you start to become aware of the way you act that i found out what it meant!!! Discusted with myself i was!!
My spelling was terrible then guys sorry about that btw!!
just cos yr disabled why get so touchy, oops not politacaly correct? we always were picked on at school I aqm now 58, but now they are bullied and there is a law against it, can I still sue 40yrs on, think about it
jacko , this is chatterbank , where a serious question by an intelligent person , can be answered with drivel from a chatterprat .
HTH ?
I was not aware of the meaning of the word 'gimp' but I always thought that when legend used this word he was doing it in a light hearted way to his mate knobby, I do not think he ever intended it to be offensive to anyone disabled. Until now I took this word just to mean....dope....and nothing more.
I like that word "chatterprat" think it fits AB ChatterBank perfectly. Thanks TheEpsilon!
