Telephone Queue Jukeboxes

Phoned BT this morning. Spent ages in a queue waiting to speak to a human being and suffered their godawful muzak.

Do companies deliberately choose terrible music so callers will give up waiting? Are there any companies that operate a jukebox for waiting calls (eg. While you're waiting press 1 to hear Vivaldi, 2 for Boyzone, 3 for Nine Inch Nails, etc)?

You should try ringing Virgin? Awful music and I was left on hold for ages. I think you have a point with juke box choices. I wish I could of changed their music with the amount of times I had to chase them with my installation problems.

I gave up waiting for BT one night two weeks back. I only wanted to pay my bill over the phone but gave up after 10 minutes of waiting.
