Skinny people have feelings too
43 Answers
I have noticed throughout my life that it is not ok to call people names if they are overweight but if you just happen to be skinny you can expect to be called all sorts of horrible things. I have been called a junkie, accused of having anorexia or bulimia, told I look like a bloke in drag because I have very slim hips. Why does society accept this? In fact the media positively encourage people these days by slagging off size 0 models. We don't even have size 0 here in the UK!
Us skinny people have feelings you know. We wouldn't walk up to an overweight person and say "oh my god look how fat you are". So don't walk up to a thin/skinny person and say "oh my god look how skinny you are". It is just as insulting and upsetting you know!

I am pretty small (just under 5 ft and a size 6, sometimes an 8) I get sick to death of comments of anorexia and skinniness. It doesnt particularly upset me but it really annoys me.
There is someone at work who is forever pointing out about my size and makes comments regularly. I always keep my gob shut but I have vowed next time she says owt to call her a fat cow in return. Thing is with the dignity act we have at work I am likely to be hauled in for a warning whereas she probably wouldnt be.

4get,I agree with your last post.I'm not looking for compliments and would prefer it if people kept their opinions to themselves. I do have one very good friend who weighs around 14st,she is overweight and knows it,but she is also healthy and runs half marathons for charity. She is also the nicest and prettiest person I know! I like her for her personality and couldn't care less what she looks like.
I'm not actually underweight I have to say,I weigh 8st11lb but for some reason I do look very skinny.

its not nice to be at any end of the spectrum, just as its not nice to have a physical impairment regularly commented on. with a world full of such diverse and different people its about time we stopped dictating to people what is right and wrong about someones physical appearance.
Time would be better spent teaching children and adults for that matter to be respectful of everyone, teach them that brad pitt and Angelina joile are not the blueprint for the human race
