I would use a Torrent, they are far better.

Search answerbank for Torrent or Azereus for more.

Not everyone signs up for both - some of us don't use any.

Both full of spyware/malware/viruses. As vguy said get a good client such as azureus and search for torrent sites. Must be a few hundred out there by now.

Since demonoid (rip) closed, one of the better sites is H33T. Great community and virus/spy free downloads.

I will be throwing a birthday party for my partner in the summer and want to compile a CD of tracks that were No. 1 in every year, on her birthday, since she was born. As most of our 'stuff' is on vinyl I'm going to need a more technological solution............

However, I have never downloaded music from t'internet before.

I'm happy to pay for my tracks and would be grateful for directions to any such site (and the site itself must be reasonably idiot-proof, too).
I'm not too bothered about it having the most current music, but it will need to back quite a long way..................can't say quite how far back, obviously..........:o)
