At some gigs, Morrissey springs to mind, people force their way upon the stage, hug their star and get promptly man handled off stage by a big bruiser come bouncer.

My question.

What happens to the person when they are carted off side stage?

Yes I always wondered by so many people rushed on stage for Morrissey maybe for the gladioli :)
I guess they either get thrown out, chucked back into the crowd or administered to by St Johns Ambulance staff :)
Years ago, I used to work for David Essex (autographs later fans), and when people jumped on the stage, they were just taken off through the wings and escorted back to the audience.
I can pretty much confirm that. Much of the time these days they're lucky if they even get to hug their star. They certainly don't get taken backstage.
