When it's not power tools, it's a lawn mower (how long does it take to cut a small lawn - at least 2 hours, then another 2 to strim the edges). When the mowing has finished, the bloody ice-cream van tours up and down the road with that ghastly Whistle While You Work. Planes going overhead all the time of course, fat lumbering droning jumbos, then the police helicopter, then a yobbed-up Corsa backfiring past the bottom fence with maximum bass on those pathetic boot-filling woofers, then the nextdoor kids screaming, then the motorbikes on the common. I only wanted to listen to Mozart's 29th in the garden while I cut back the worst excesses of next doors invading brambles and prepare the flower beds for the beauty of scented stocks and flaming red salvias.
If you live somewhere peaceful - enjoy it, it is a rare commodity.
Well, it's exceedingly quiet here today.... I think everyone has gone to the seaside or the shops...... (it's a tad damp though which must have helped prevent the bbq's and strimmers but not wet enough for everyone to be indoors drilling holes, putting up shelves and other assorted diy..... ). I am enjoying a quiet afternoon, just pottering around in the kitchen.. wonderful peace and quiet...
But both players are quite nice, so all is not lost! ;O)
I had a very embrarrassing dream about Ronnie a couple of years back, and it's come back to haunt me....lol
I was out in the garden this morning and
the noise !!! mowers ..strimmers ...diy....
so much for a quiet Sunday morning ..
and every Sunday morning we have the
bikers breaking the 30mph limit ...
I used to be a shift worker so mowed the
lawn in the week and we still do as I think
people do deserve peace and quiet on a Sunday
no one cares about anyone ..totally selfish ...
Kirsy Wark takes a bit of beating, in the absence of Michaela. She is Scottish but intelligible, a fairly rare combination, and has a wee glint in the eyes.
