... but hardly anyone seems to have heard of them!

So when I jump up and down with excitement and say I am talking to X or Y, no-one seems bothered, or understands.

So, as a sharing exercixe, I would like to advise the wider community that last night I talked to ....

Todd Rundgren,

and in a week or so, I will be talking to ....

Lindsey Buckingham.

If you are even vaguley impressed, please let me know!

Andy - you been at the vino? Just re-read your post ............;o)
lol @ Loftylottie - yes Andy I have heard of both of these too, I wouldn't say I am a huge fan of either, but do have several Fleetwood Mac tracks on my ipod. Please add me to the list for Bowie :) I saw him at Milton Keynes Bowl more years ago than I care to remember
Hey, I was first on the Bowie list. I thought it was an exclusive invitation, now I am mortified!! ;o)

Fair play lotts, I have had my dinner, and in an ideal world, I would be having a lie down, but in reality I have re-booted my PC twice before realising that it is sulking, and will not play the new LB disc, so I must wait until I get home.

I shall use the time usefully with a little keyboard practise ....

Don't worry lotts, in order to avoid any accusations of favouritism, i will perform, the charade of a 'lucky dip' for all contenders who wish to accompany me to Dame David's abode - should such a circumstance arise.

They conteseants will of course all find themselves disappointed ... esxept for your good self!
That's OK then Andy. I am now even more sure you have been on the vino and laughing to myself. (Your last sentence!!)

I'm sure I mean what you don't know ....
I have had the pleasure of meeting David Bowie.

Well, perhaps "meeting him" is stretching it a little bit. I was working in my Dad's newsagents shop circa 1973, when David came into the shop, and picked up a number of magazines from the shelf. "Dad,dad, that's David Bowie", I whispered to my father. With that, my dad disappeared out the back of the shop. I served David. He bought 40 Rothmans, and a packet of sweets, as well as the magazines. My mouth was dry, my palms were sweating, I was standing face-to-face with a Rock Legend. "Excuse me", I said "Are you David Bowie?" I stammered. "That's right", he replied, "Do you like my music?" "Yes, I do", I replied, and I told him he was the favourite of a lot of my school friends as well.

Dad returned, with a poster of "the man", and asked if David would sign it, which of course he did.

I still have the poster, signed "To Les, regards, David Bowie".

He is the most famous person I have ever met, and it had such an impact on me.

Yes, andy, I can imagine what it is like to meet these "heroes". Good luck.

That's wonderful Iamblue.

I am lucky enough to meet famous musicians, but obviously it is in a professional situation, and we are each prepared to do our professional conversation.

To meet a star unexpecrtedly like that must be fabulous, it rarely happens to me, and being Bowie, I am envious, I have been a fan since 1972!
Bowie is a legend in his own time. My super hero!!

That's a a great story Iamblue!!
