Does anyone know the name of this song, part of the lyrics/chorus is something like, 'cause my hair is curly, cause my teeth are pearly'. I thought it might have been sung by Ella Fitzgerald but cannot find it on you tube. If anyone knows what it is I'd be very grateful!

It's called Shine I think and it's done by all sorts of people - possibly Ella.

Cos my teeth is pearly,
Just because my hair is curly,
Just because I always wear a smile,
Like to dress up, in the latest style,
Cos, Im glad Im livin,
Take my troubles all with a smile,
Just because my coloured shades
A bit different baby,
Thats why they call me Shine
It's called Shine and has been recorded by loads of people including Ella Fitzgerald .
I've got it on a 45 by Joe Brown (early sixties I think), not sure if it was wiv The Bruvvers or not though.
Hi, I believe that the Califonia ramblers,1924
Bing Crosby ,1932,Louie Armstrong1932,
& Frankie Laine ,1948 all made recordings of this song which dates from 1924, Joe Brown & the Bruv vers did it in 1961.
