Sky 1 Adverts and trailers
4 Answers
I thoroughly enjoyed this evenings showing of Stargate Atlantis on Sky One. But,doesn't Sky One pack in soooooooo many adverts and trailers. This really does bug me a lot.!!! It really does spoil the viewing of whatever is on at the time. If there is one thing on TV I really hate, and that has to be the constant onslaught of trailers and adverts. The problem is, is that they show more or less the same trailers all the time. I think there are far too many trailers/adverts.
I'm sure this question has been said before, but I thought I would raise the issue one last time.
Anyone support me on this thread??!!
It would be good if there was a channel dedicated to just adverts and trailers.

I'm sure that I read somewhere that the rules on advertising are being relaxed, so that may allow longer ad breaks during programmes (there's only supposed to be one break every 20 minutes as it is, but there's one after about 5 minutes in almost anything on Sky 1 - you're lucky to go 20 minutes with something on ITV before you get an ad break, even then they can cram in 3 or 4 ad breaks into 1 hour's programming).
ridiculous ( not you, question asker ;-) )

Sorry for the late reply Judge.
I was on another thread.I cannot believe that the rules on advertising have been relaxed!!!!!
Lucky you for having the full Sky sysytem!!
I haven't got the full system set,so sometimes I have to record TV shows on blank tape. Then, all I have to do is just press the fast forward button on the video remote to get past the hated ads.
I give you three stars for your support. So thanks for that!!

One of the reasons Sky shows so many trailers is because US programmes generally have a shorter running time than UK-made ones. UK programmes can last up to 48 mins per hour, US ones can be as low as 40 mins... So if you watch something like Ross Kemp On Gangs you should see less trailers than in something like Bones...
But yes, Sky Plus is the way to go if you can afford it.
