can anyone help pleeeeze, i had a tooth pulled a week ago and have been left with what is known as a dry socket, very very painful, i had it packed with a paste of some sort yesterday but that has worn off does anyone know if i can take ibuprofen and co codamol toether for pain relief cos if i dont get any sleep soon i gonna go nuts
I sympathise totally. I had it once too and the pain is excruciating.....much worse than toothache.
I am pretty sure that you can take ibuprofen and co-codamol together as long as you don't make a habit of it. I think the problem is that they may give you tummy problems. Having had the pain of a dry socket, I'd take the risk.
You might try your GP tomorrow with a phone consultation for some prescription pain relief...I found them much more sympathetic than my dentist who sugested that I "might try a paracetamol"...didn't even touch it.
Poor you.
thank you so much and you are right about the dentist they really dont seem to appreciate how much pain this problem causes and they didnt offer to top up this paste stuff they used, which was wonderful while it worked but i doesnt help much when it all comes flooding back to mass pain again
yes you can mix the two.
ibuprofen contains asprin and co codamol contains paracetomol so they is no chance of overdosing by taking too much of either tablet.hope you feel better soon.
thank you again i am now heading off for a nice hot relaxing bath and a couple of pills and some hot chocolate one way or another i will get some sleep i hope !!!!!!
Just thought, you might try some clove oil...just a tiny bit at first to see if it will work for you...it's powerful stuff. Superdrug or any chemist will have it.
thank you all for your help, i've now had my bath took the pills and am working my way through the biggest mug of hot chocolate ever, hopefully i will get some sleep once it all starts working. thanks again
