ooh, good one. In my humble opinion, for sheer talent: Jeff Buckley, Bono, Thom Yorke, Guy Garvey, Adam Duritz. For sheer uniqueness and loveliness: Michael Stipe, Roddy Womble, Robert Smith, Ben Ottewell, Tom Mcrae and me.
Ooh what a toughie! Amongst my faves:
Mick Jones (Clash not Foreigner!)
Stevie Marriott
General Johnson (Chairmen of the Board)
Engelbert Humperdink
Roger Whittaker
Dean Martin
aso like Lee Mavers, Martin Grech, Roland Orzabal, Jonathan Donahue. Paul Mcartney has a nice voice but it is a bit worn now i think. The thing i dont get about dean martin and Frank Sinatra is that i can go to any local workingmen's place and see half the oap's sing just as well as themon the weekly karaoke night. there's no gusto / ba||s there, just croonage.
Elton John, Kurt Cobain, Stevie Wonder, Will Young (sorry I'll get lynched, but he has got a lovely voice), Chris Cornell (Soundgarden, Audioslave), Otis Reading, Barry White (What?! Nobody else sounds like him!), Ray Charles, Freddie Mercury, Louis Armstrong, Bob Dylan, I could go on but won't because I'm getting bored...
Ozzie Ozbourne, MeatLoaf, Guy from DefLepard, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Costello, James Taylor, Ian Gillan, Robert Plant, Shaggy, John Denver, Rod Stewart....given the right piece on a good day ....they're all great.
