Struggling to play the guitar

I bought a guitar quite a long time ago with the last of my money.

I was determined that one day I would learn to play it. I never have.

No matter how much I want to learn to play the thing, I just don't seem to be able to.

I struggled to tune it at first, but now I seem to have that cracked, for the time being at least, but it's still just beyond me.

I just get tired of getting nowhere fast. I tried for years to learn from books, I've had a tutor, and now I've got an online tutor in Siggi Mertens of youtube fame, but I'm just not getting anywhere.

Has anyone (adult) tried learning using a little student guitar? I think that might prove easier for me. I'm assuming mechanically it's just the same, but smaller.

student guitars are good because it allows you more control of the frets, start with the basics and learn songs rather than chords as you will remember the chords better if they are associated with a song
