No mate. it appeared on the 1995 album Whats The Story Morning Glory and was written by god himself noel gallagher! however not long after a band called "mike flowers pops" covered it. pretty laughable really. noel said its a cool cover though!. Ryan Adams has also covered it.
noel gallagher, god ? i used to think he was an ok guy but then saw him on jonathan ross show. he came over as a pretentious prat whos so far up his own anus he could practically roll
hey, to go on an interview with Jonathan Ross, i suppose you gotta be like that!!! i saw that by the way. i love oasis, but think Liam is a TO**er, great singer though. shows i aint biased coz they my fave band! theres a fine line between confidence and arrogance. i suppose i can understand why people might not like noel at least( whereas noone should like liam !!)
I think George Harrison had an album called 'Wonderwall', so the title itself has been around some years. Some might say, that Noel wrote it for his then lass, Meg Matthews.
yes, that is correct "Wonderwall" was written for his "lass" (mother to his daughter!!) Meg Matthews....hence when they were in the midst of divorce, oasis stopped playing it live.
Wonderwall was actually named after the George Harrison track & was indeade written about Meg.

When the Mike Flowers pop version was launced, it was promoted as the the long lost original 60's version of the track (v>v toungue in cheeck).

On a global level the 2004 Cover by Ryan Adams has actually sold the most copies.Bizarre.
