saintpeter48 I have been on a web site that gives every British no1 since the 1950s & i have found just 6 & one iffy one.They are as follows

1962 Frank Ifield (I remember you)
1988 Kylie Minogue (I should be so lucky)
1989 Jason Donovan (To many broken hearts)
1996 Gina G (Ooh aah just a little bit)
1996 Peter Andre (Flava)
2002 Holly Vallance (Kiss kiss)

And the iffy one is by an artist called Baz Luhrmann called (Everyones free) (To wear sunscreen) It says it reached no1 in 1999. Hope these help you & are some you have already?

just tried checking out Judith Durham to see if she had any solo hits... all I found was that her real name was Judith Mavis C*ck and she was once stalked by a woman who kept sending her doormats.

Hi tikka17 just read ur answer bout gary shearston. Well i've had a look at a few sites & it only got to number 7 in the uk in 1974. It also said the song reached no11 in Adelaide, no12 in Brisane, & no19 in Sydney al l in 1974. I don't know how the charts work over in oz do you?

Not sure about the oz charts but another possibility is the finn brothers from crowded house . Are any of their hits credeted to either of the finns as I know that they did release solo material.
