I picked the following hymn (30 years ago). Hadn't heard of it before but Minister though it was a lovely choice, he told me most people just had the favourites! It has four verses, written by J Ellerton. The words may be updated slight from this version which I took from my late father's hymn book - pre 1949! It is probably in the Methodist or Presbyterian Hymn Book or something like Golden Bells. Most good Church organists will probably know it.
first verse is
O Father All Creating
Whose wisdom, love & power
First bound two lives together
In Eden's primal hour.
Today to these Thy children
Thine earliest gifts renew,
A home by Thee made happy,
A love by Thee kept true.
the last verse did it for me -
Except Thou build it, Father,
The house is built in vain;
Except Thou, Saviour, bless it,
The joy will turn to pain:
But nought can break the union
of hearts in Thee made one;
and love Thy Spirit hallows
Is endless love begun.
Hope you have a long happy marriage whatever you choose!
