Transmission trouble

My mother just put a good amount of money into her Mazda 626 LX 2000. Getting new brakes and CV joints. She took a trip about 250 miles and when she got to her destination she had noticed another sound... She drove back and took it to the shop where she had got it fixed on previously and was told that it was her transmission. I took it for a test drive and it was making a sound when you firmly press on the gas. I realized that it was the transmission. Now why all of a sudden is the car having problems again when they had worked on the car 2 to 3 months prior?? Couldn't they have noticed that the transmission was already starting to go?? How could this had happened??

Hi J, If you can manage to do this, take the car out for another run, try and feel the end of the drive shafts are they really hot? Have they put grease into the C/V Boot? Are you having problems engaging gears?
