Vinyl Records - LPs etc
19 Answers
Like a lot of people, I still have (but never play), loads of records. Does anyone know of a website that can be used to find out if an LP or Single has any value - collectors fairs etc. In all honesty, other than a collector, I don't think most if any will be worth a bean, but then again you never know. I don't mind giving them away, though even that may not prove easy, but I would hate it if, after the event, I then found out one or two were collectable!! Cheers

I know what you mean Fo, mine have fond memories too, but so did my eleven year old car, but I finally had to part with it. My thoughts are that if I don't part with them now, they will be either worthless to anyone, or unplayable when it becomes impossible to buy a replacement stylus. I like your answer to smudge Ed, re how many can you name. It's a bit like clothes you haven't worn for ages - and probably never will. I await suggestions from others re websites. I will check ebey out too. Thanks to all
Sorry EmEd, got your name wrong in last post. I'm just putting all the records onto a spreadsheet, and checking all are in good nick. My decision to ditch Yes - The Yes Album has just been made easy. It has warped from one of the (infrequent) hot summers when I kept some in the attic which from Memory I now recall got incredibly hot!! Might be worth checking yours out Smudge, mind you right now they are more likely to have icicles on them!!
You're welcome countrykid.
lol - yeah, icicles I would think!
I've often thought about putting them all on a spread sheet too countrykid, so that'll be another little (or big) chore to keep me occupied!
OMG, just you mentioning the 'Yes' album takes me back. Now they really were the good old days! ;o}

Thanks Ed, I will check those out. Good luck Smudge if you do get around to the spreadsheet. I'm doing a bit each night after work. It's quite good fun, and bringing back memories as I do it. Have put one or two on the "must keep" pile - until that is I next de-clutter and find I still haven't played them.
Catch up with you all again sometime - I'm not a regular on here, but think it's a great site. LOL

Hi merton - our two daughters were also Gary Numan, Tubeway Army fans, mainly the youngest one.
I remember us going to pick them & some friends up after a gig at Wembley. The nice man on the door allowed me in to walk down to the front to meet them. Have to say, the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic!
Our daughter has all his records,etc., tucked away, so you never know, she may be in touch!

Thanks for the website tip Merton69. Have just checked it out and it looks really useful. Sadly, I do not have any Gary Numan or Tubeway Army, but I did check out one of my LPs on popsike.com - Tommy by The Who, and it looks to have promise! Think I'll list a few on Ebay and see if I can attract the interest of the Japanese! Thanks theonlyone for that mention.
