what's the name of the song or the band?

I think this song was a general hit either in the late 90s or the early 2000. I remember a line in the song was either "I need to get out of here" or "I want to get out of here". I remember the guy singing wore a caps and a flanell shirt, and they used a strange synth of somekind that made a "star-like" harmonic sound that went on in the background.
