Bob's answer, although a little brief, is essentially correct. Music is a proven method of touching peoples' emotions. It may be that a song reminds you of a certain time in your life - "Pop music is the soundtrack of our lives." as Ian Dury once said. It may be that you relate to the sentiments expressed - 'Living Years' by Mike And The Mechanics probably encompasses every guy's difficult relationship with his father. Try 'No-one Is To Blame' for a love that cannot be, I could go on, I;ve got compilations by the score of collectrions of songs that have expressed better than I can, what I have been, or indeed am feeling. Woody Allen reckoned that we try to get things as perfect as we can in art, because we can't seem to manage to dot it life. I reckon a lot of songs back up this point of view.
