Help please, can you find out what estate agent came before the current one? :0)

Hi all, is there somewhere you can find out what estate agency a seller was with before their current one? (Don't say "ask them"! as i'm trying to be 'low-key' lol). I know that a house i'm about to bid on has been on the market for a year (from the hip pack etc) but has only been with the current agents for 2/3 months and was told that it was on at a much higher price with another agent and would just like to see what that was, essentially, as I think it's a little bit overpriced (but what do I know! lol) but I don't mind paying it if I knew what it might achieve (regardless of improvements I make) if the market picks up a bit. (I also know how they inflate prices etc....i'm not a novice to this........but ok then, it's cos i'm being really nosey as well!!! lolol) Any help greatly appreciated!!!! Andrea :0)

Even finding out who the previous agent was isn't going to help you find out what the asking price was - they are hardly going to let you have the details.
What does it matter anyway? - these are only asking prices.
It's far better to get onto a website like this one and find out what prices have actually been paid from similar properties over the last few years.

Thanks buildersmate for your reply and advice! :0) I just wondered what the price used to be before the slump (it's not a crash, in my opinion). You never know what sites are out there so I just thought i'd try and find out if one exists for this from this site as everyone is always so very helpful. I'll take a gander at that site you mentioned though, thanks again!

The site that Buildersmate has given ^ is a good one!
Prices now tho cannot be compared to those back 2 years or so, those prices were well inflated.

It doesnt really matter what the price was last year or the year before, all that matters really is what its NOW valued at against what your loan or payment is.
