yeah what the site doesnt say is that using the legal fiction enabled the Kings Court remove the case from local jurisdiction and to hear the case itself. (money)

Like a lot of things, such as grand juries, these things dropped out most of English Law but persisted in American law ? because jury trials are mentioned somewhere in the (written) constitution

I heard that the term meant John/Jane DOA meaning an unidentified male/female who entered a hospital 'Dead On Arrival'.

I am pretty sure nobody knows where they came from. Or even what there real names are. That is why they give them the name John or Jane. :-p
