The Wedding Song (maybe)

I cannot for the life of me put a name to the song or the singer, a woman, who recorded a Wedding Song in the late 1950s early 1960s. It had lyrics that were similair to this "I see the church I see the people, Ave Maria"
Could someone put me out of my misery?
